Our Mission - cut water use in half
Our fresh water is precious. We need it for everything we do – drinking and cooking, growing our food and preserving our way of life. The mission of Go Blue is to inspire Canadians to cut their water use in half and help us spread the word about water conservation.
Oliver M. Brandes, POLIS
Oliver M. Brandes joined The POLIS Project on Ecological Governance at the University of Victoria in 2003 to lead the Water Sustainability Project. Oliver has studied international relations while in Europe and was involved in various environmental and development projects in Costa Rica and Ecuador. Oliver is the Associate Director at POLIS and his work focuses on the ecological governance of water security, sound resource management and ecological-based legal and institutional reform. Danielle Droitsch
Danielle Droitsch directs Water Matters, a new non-profit province-wide organization dedicated to the protection of Alberta’s watersheds. Danielle sits on the Alberta Water Council and serves as chair and coordinator for the Alberta Environmental Network’s water caucus. Prior to arriving in Canada, Danielle served as the Policy Director at American Rivers, founded and directed the Tennessee Clean Water Network, and was the Associate Regional Director for the United States National Parks Conservation Association’s southeast office. Karen Kun
Karen Kun founded Waterlution in 2003, following involvement in the World Summit for Sustainable Development and piloting water-learning programs in South Africa. In 2005, Karen became Publisher of Corporate Knights magazine after a two-year publishing partnership with Waterlution. With extensive strategy and research capacities on environmental sustainability and corporate responsibility from CSR consulting work in the UK and field experience in Columbia, Costa Rica, Bolivia and South Africa with Oxfam-Quebec and CUSO, Karen is committed to creating spaces for dialogue. Bob Sandford
Bob Sandford began his work with UN-linked initiatives as Chair of the United Nations International Year of Mountains in 2002. Bob was also chair of the United Nations International Year of Fresh Water and Wonder of Water Initiative in Canada in 2003 - 2004. Bob is presently the Canadian Chair of the United Nations International “Water for Life” Decade, the Director of the Western Watersheds Climate Research Collaborative, and also sits on the Executive Committee for the Alberta Water Research Institute.
